Once you are contacted by Sage Journals: Licensing & Payment, you will need to complete the necessary workflow for your article. Please follow the instructions in the email in a timely manner as we are unable to publish your article until these steps are complete. 

Gold open access offers

For articles accepted for publication in a Gold journal, you will receive an email from [email protected], this will quote your open access offer and any APC that is due. The open access offer can be held up to 60 days in Sage Journals: Licensing & Payment. 

If authors do not take action in Sage Journals: Licensing & Payment within this time period, then we may have to withdraw your article from publication. If you require additional time to arrange the funds to pay your Article Processing Charge (APC), please contact our Open Access Customer Services team. They will assess each request on an ad hoc basis to grant additional time to pay the APC.   

Hybrid open access offers

For articles accepted for publication in a Hybrid journal, you will receive an email from [email protected], which will direct you to the platform to complete the license signing. You will need to select the appropriate license for the article in Sage Journals: Licensing and Payment and complete the required workflow.
