Overview

Sage has a wide range of Open Access agreements to support authors from various institutions. These Open Access agreements provide differing levels of discounts and waivers on the Article Processing Charge (APC) for Open Access in our Hybrid and Gold journals, making it easier for authors to publish their research Open Access. Details of individual agreements, the benefits they offer, and the journals they are applicable in, can be found on our webpage for Sage's Open Access agreements.

Am I eligible for an Open Access agreement?

Open Access agreement eligibility is dependent on an article meeting various eligibility criteria and, if applicable, whether the corresponding author's consortia/institution/library approves the article to be part of their agreement.

  • Eligibility for Open Access agreements is determined by the Corresponding Author's affiliations only. Therefore, corresponding author must have correctly declared their affiliation in the submission system and in the title page of their accepted manuscript.
  • The acceptance of an article for publication should fall within the agreement date of the Open Access agreement.
  • Journal should be included in the package deal which corresponding author's consortia/institution/library subscribes to, or our Gold titles which are including in discounts.
  • To check whether the institution of the corresponding author has an Open Access agreement with Sage, please refer to the Open Access Agreements page.
