What is a Creative Commons license?

Modified on Fri, 23 Jun, 2023 at 11:32 PM

Creative Commons licenses allow authors to retain the copyright of their work while allowing others to copy, distribute and make some use of their work. The most common is the Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) and the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial (CC BY-NC) licenses.

Your funder may require that you choose a particular license. To learn more about this, see the funding bodies and compliance page.
